Overhead Hoist and Forklift Drum Rotators for 55 Gallon Steel DrumsHoist-mounted drum carriers and rotators provide a mechanical way to lift, position, and fully rotate loaded 55 gallon steel drums. Designed for use with a suitable overhead hoist or fork truck, these below-the-hook drum handlers support elevated pouring, dispensing, and drum-positioning tasks where direct access to the container is limited. Meets OSHA 1910.179 requirements. Remote 360 Degree Drum RotationA 15 foot chain crank allows the drum to be rotated through 360 degrees while the operator remains away from the suspended container. An integrated drum-locking system holds the steel drum during lifting and rotation. The drum must be full to rotate at the rated capacity. Select Capacity and Fork AccessAvailable capacities include 800, 1,500, and 2,000 pounds for matching the carrier to the loaded drum weight. Standard usable fork pockets measure 5-1/2 inches wide by 1-15/16 inches high. Models with the 4WFP suffix add bolt-on pockets for four-way fork entry, including usable openings of 5 inches wide by 1-9/16 inches high and 5-1/2 inches wide by 1-15/16 inches high. Fork dimensions should be confirmed before use. Configuration and Drum CompatibilityThe 2,000 pound capacity model features gearbox operation, while the remaining models use the chain-operated rotating mechanism specified for the family. Standard carriers are designed for 55 gallon steel drums. Drum must be full to rotate at rated capacity. The FDC-30 adapter is available separately when handling compatible plastic or fiber drums. |
